Dear Reader,
Hello, it’s been a long long time, and I am here to catch up with you.
Have you ever been on a break? Not the one you take at the cafeteria but a career break! Man, its been a whirlwind trying to set up the cards for the next season of my life. You know when I made writing my full-time profession back in 2017, I was all about delivery, vocabulary, grammatical nuances, sophistication and whatnot. Now that I have serviced over 100 clients and raised 500+ invoices, I know it’s time to pivot. Writing for businesses is a science. We have defined target audiences, crafted brand voices with evaluated takeaways for what our content marketing efforts should yield. We draw a line at the beginning of a quarter, and walk on it for the next 3 months, assessing the healthy relationship between efforts and results a.k.a enquiries, ROI, followers, engagement, reach etc.
Outside of my professional accomplishments, I enjoyed a different genre of writing. The one great novels are made of. A sneak peek into the mind of the author, an enigmatic and picturesque illustration through words and weaving of stories. However, there was a hesitation to explore and make my storytelling genre mainstream. I never felt the stories I create can resonate with audiences.
Storytelling in its basic, unadulterated format has my heart, that’s who I am in my DNA. I had to package my professional services in a more mass-preferred way, and conceal the narration style that came to me effortlessly because I didn’t think people would want to read a straight-to-the-point narrative style and gather inspiration, education, entertainment or information.
It is not a strange concept to have a persona for your professional life, I mean we have heard numerous times to separate the personal from the professional. But, for a writer, that too an independent writer such as I, my personal observations become fodder for the pieces I write. Also, with age comes wisdom and with wisdom, I have decided to shed my inhibitions. I have decided to use this space to craft stories and share insight on the things I have come to learn, observe and enjoy. I hope you will be here to experience life through my eyes, I haven’t decided on how many words or how frequent to publish, but I will figure it out soon. Till that time, let’s stay connected on Instagram.
Write soon.
